Descriptions

Hey guys, we have a hot project to take a look at today, the Ethereum blockchain is about to become home to 10,000 Cosa Monstra NFTs. This ambitious project is created by renowned Founder Gabor Csupo and his team. Each of the 10,000 Cosa Monstra NFTs comes with a handful of holder benefits, making them more than just a digital collectible. For instance, Cosa Monstra NFT holders will also be able to use their tokens as membership passes for Inkhead Studios – Gabor Csupo’s latest venture. This will entitle them to various perks, utilities and benefits along the way.

Let’s take a closer look.

Who is Behind the Project

Gabor Csupo is a Hungarian-American animator, writer, director, producer and graphic designer. He is co-founder of the animation studio Klasky Csupo, which has produced shows like Rugrats, Duckman, Stressed Eric, and Aaahh!!! Real Monsters.
Csupo originally hails from Budapest, Hungary, born in 1952.
In his early career Csupo worked on titles such as the original animated Scooby-Doo and The Simpsons.

By the peak of his career Csupo had formed the animation studio Klasky Csupo, with his now former partner Arlene Klasky, going on to produce great shows such as The Wild Thornberrys, the Rugrats, and various Rugrats movies – one of which, The Rugrats Movie went on to be the first non-Disney animated film in the world to gross over $100M at the domestic box office.

Now Csupo is turning his energy and dedicating his passion towards his latest NFT project Cosa Monstra NFT.

Team Members

The team is lean, and all members seem very capable. Only Gabor Csupo, the founder is fully doxxed to a personal level.

About the Collection

The Cosa Monstra NFT collection is a truly unique and engaging experience of 10,000 unique creatures. Bright, vibrant colours and bold designs come together to create a one-of-a-kind world that is perfect for any fan of Rugrats or Gabor Csupo’s signature style. With over 500 total traits available, each creature is hand-drawn with painstaking passion – making this collection a must-have for any NFT enthusiast. Additionally, there are a handful of fantastic 1/1s available, all hand-drawn by Gabor Csupo himself! Whether you’re looking to add to your existing NFT collection or start a new one, the Cosa Monstra NFTs are a great option to brighten up your wallet.

The Leonardos, The Umbertos & The Gepettos are a colourful trio of simple creatures. Each creature is differentiated by its own unique set of hand-drawn traits – the 500+ traits ensure each holder receives a highly unique piece.
The three creatures can be transformed into an even more colourful display through the application of their bold and vibrant traits. With so many possibilities, collectors are sure to find the perfect piece to suit their taste.

The three main NFT characters are great, but it’s the special 1/1 NFTs that are really catching everyone’s attention. These NFTs are hand-drawn by famed animator Gabor Csupo, meaning each piece is an authentic and unique piece of artwork. As these are 1/1 pieces by this artist we can expect these special NFTs to have a much higher valuation than the rest of the collection. There is reported to be around 30 1/1 pieces available to collectors.

There isn’t a whole lot of utility available for the collection. This should be seen primarily as an art/pfp project by an already well-established artist. As a Cosa Monstra NFT holder, you’ll be treated to a range of exciting perks. You’ll have access to the allow list for future Inkhead Studio Drops, an upcoming FREE NFT claim or airdrop, and exclusive merchandise. Plus, you’ll be able to participate in cool real-life events. Through these perks and fantastic artwork, Cosa Monstra hopes to build a world-class and long-lasting community that stands the test of time.

Road Map

The Road Map is brief, and doesn’t try to over-promise anything in particular.

Socials

  • Twitter – 53.1k followers | Joined April 2022 – Large Twitter account. Tweets seem to get average engagement most of the time with nothing amazing. Very regular tweets and they also hold regular collaborations.
  • Discord – 21.8k Members | 4.3k Online – Large Discord, no verification or rule acceptance on entry at all – I received multiple scam DMs as soon as I joined. Bots sit below regular users, no shilling channels. The conversation is very regular and consistent

Smart Contract

Smart Contract is not yet available for review.

Price & Mint Date

One Cosa Monstra NFT will cost 0.18 ETH.

  • Presale begins on September 6th at 8AM PST
  • Public Sale begins on September 6th at 2PM PST

Conclusion

The project has some great artwork, those that love the artists signature style are sure to appreciate the collection. The founder has some pedigree and the community is pretty big and the momentum seems good. The 1/1s are very nice and are sure to make some nice collector pieces.

The negative of the project, probably the one major fault I can pick is the mint price. 0.18 ETH at the time of writing is almost $300. In the current market, most are used to cheaper mints and I have seen many complaints on Twitter of the price. I get that the artist is established, but that doesn’t necessarily mean a lot in the NFT world. We are frequently seeing other established artists walk into the space and miss their goals by a long shot. It takes a certain level of understanding, reputational standing and aptitude to make a mark in the NFT space.

Overall, the project has some slick artwork, that most would love to mint, but a rather high price tag for such artwork with little current benefits. If you get whitelist, this could be one to mint as it seems fairly hyped. There could be potential for a quick profit before the reveal.
